Hi there, its Umesh Damania, and on today’s video I want to talk to you about
How to Improve Memory and Focus
This is one of the most vital ingredients to your success in life.
Drinking water can have a massive impact on brain function.
A lack of water to the brain can cause can cause problems with focus, memory function, brain fatigue and brain fog, as well as issues like headaches, insomnia, irritability, mood swings, and many more.
Did you know that over 70 percent of your body is made up of water and every function in the body is dependent on water, including the activities of the brain and nervous system
And yet most adults don’t drink enough water even though research found that the average adult loses more than 80 ounces of water every day through sweating, breathing, and eliminating wastes.
So the question is, what is the impact on your brain function?
The brain is one of the most important organs in your body to keep fuelled. It is approximately 85 percent water and brain function depends on having a plentiful supply of H2O
Water gives the brain the electrical energy for all brain functions, including thought and memory processes.
Water is also needed for the brain’s production of hormones and neurotransmitters.
When your brain is fully hydrated, you will be able to think faster, be more focused, and experience greater clarity and creativity. As an entrepreneur, those are qualities that you need in your business.
When your body loses more water than you are replacing, dehydration will kick in and brain function will be affected.
Dehydration causes your brain to run inefficiently.
You get brain fog, fatigue, focus issues, emotional instability, frustration, exhaustion, headaches, stress, and a lack of mental clarity..and that’s just for starters.
If you are only 1 percent dehydrated, you will likely have a 5 percent decrease in cognitive function.
If your brain drops 2 percent in body water, you may suffer from fuzzy short-term memory, experience problems with focusing.
So water is so important for us., It’s essential for delivering nutrients to the brain and for removing toxins. When your brain is fully hydrated, the exchange of nutrients and toxins works better.
So what do you need to do?
I recommend drinking 2 to 3 litres a day.
Also considering that you’ve been asleep all night, you wake in a dehydrated state, so you should have at least one large glass of water as soon as you wake up.
Always keep a bottle of water near you throughout the day, especially if you have a job that requires a lot of mental activity. Drinking water regularly will help to keep your brain fuelled, oxygenated, and energized.
I have one here in the office, one in the car and one at home, so I have no excuse to not drink water. I aim for one of these 3 times a day, I try and do one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one late afternoon..
Now your body is very good at telling you if you’re dehydrated. Feeling thirsty is your body’s way of telling you that you need to drink more.
And you get an important visual clue another way…
The colour of your urine.
Of course it’s going to be a dark yellow colour when we wake, but if it remains that colour during the day, then you’re dehydrated.
If you’re getting enough water, your urine should be a pale straw colour.
Bottom line, if you want your brain to function well, receiving and sending signals to the rest of your body, and be its optimal creative state for being an entrepreneur, make sure it receives the water it needs.
